Harvest School

Harvest School of Missions – Iris Alice Springs

Location – Alice Springs, Central Australia

September 30th 2026 to November 25th 2026

Applications close June 30th 2026

In late September through to November 2026, Iris Alice Springs will be hosting their first Iris Harvest school of missions. This 8 week journey, located deep in the red centre Outback of central Australia, among our First Nations communities, will be a journey between you and God, deeper into His heart and into the hearts of people across the nations as we join together and learn how to love Him more and love the ones He puts in front of us. We will be marked by God’s Spirit through worship, testimonies, outreaches, serving, healing, teaching and equipping and extended times just to be set apart in His glorious presence.
What does it mean to lay down your life, to take up your cross and follow Him? Maybe you’ve been living the Christian life but there’s something in you that knows there has to be more. There is a radical pursuit of God in your heart! This school could be for you!
Haggai 2:7 calls Jesus “the desire of the nations”. Our Saviour was given for every people group and we know as the darkness increases, the light will only shine brighter. You will be touched by this family God will bring together for such a time as this with people joining from all different nations and people groups from all over the globe- speakers, staff and students, united by Jesus.
Do you feel a drawing to come away? The desert places are the places of speaking. In Hosea God says of Israel “I will allure her into the desert and speak tenderly to her” Hosea 2:6 Will you give Jesus this time? Come! We will burn with holy fire and sent out, never the same again!

Harvest School of Missions is a prerequisite school for serving long term in Iris Global. Harvest Schools are intentionally foundational and formational in their teaching and modelling of the Iris Core Values and DNA. Harvest Schools of Missions are held throughout the year at various Iris ministry centres.

What to expect during the school

Daily life will include teaching sessions, times of worship and prayer, small-group discipleship, communal meals and being immersed in a relational community where you learn not only by hearing, but by doing. You’ll be encouraged to grow in your identity in Christ, humility, faith, and the ability to minister in real contexts. Alice Springs and its surroundings provide a challenging but rich mission field.

You’ll engage in practical outreach: going into the streets, communities and town camps; evangelism; praying for the sick; distributing food and basic necessities; fun programs for kids; setting the captives free; baptisms; and sharing the simple gospel of Jesus Christ.

In the small town of Alice Springs in central Australia – right in the middle of the Outback – we have established a ministry centre to serve our community.  We have the highest percentage of Aboriginal people in any urban centre here and many of the people we get to do life here with are from remote communities and come into town for medical care, shopping, banking, and more. Iris Alice Springs is called to dig a well of revival here, so people can come alive in Him!  We have a sad history as a nation and Jesus is bringing restoration to these beautiful people as we give our lives in the desert.

Our team holds church services every week, runs a children and youth ministry, serves weekly community lunches, takes outreach trips to the streets and camps, attends funerals, disciples people near and far, visits the hospital for ministry to the sick, as well as provides crisis-care for practical needs such as emergency food, transport, clothing, and fire wood.

Iris Alice Springs is an Australian non-profit organisation and a registered charity.  As such we are registered with the Australian Charities and not-for-profit commission (ACNC).

Iris Global is a Christian missionary organisation led by Heidi and Rolland Baker, driven by the love of God and dedicated to serving the poor and vulnerable.

Its primary mission is to seek the face of God, glorifying Him and delighting in His presence.

Iris Global originating in Mozambique and expanding to many nations with a core message of love and “stopping for the one” in need.

The Bakers (the founders of Iris Global) are at the forefront of a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Mozambique and southeastern Africa that has seen thousands come to Jesus with over 10,000 churches planted and 1000s of children adopted.
